Text messages from bookrun
bookrun is software used by independent, self-employed businesses (e.g., dog groomers, mobile detailers, house cleaners, landscapers, electricians) to quote work, book it, and invoice for it. Messages are sent on behalf of the business you booked with, and always name them.
Program description
If you've asked a business for a quote or booked work with them, they may send you messages about that job: a link to your quote, confirmation that your deposit was received, a reminder the day before, an on-my-way notice, a link to pay your invoice, and after the work is done, a single request for a review.
There is no bulk or promotional messaging, and no third-party lists. bookrun never messages anyone who isn't a customer of the business sending it.

How consent is collected
There are exactly two ways a phone number gets consent in bookrun, and both are recorded with a timestamp and their source.
1. You tick the box on your own quote
Every quote is a web page you open from a link the business sent you. The consent box sits above the accept button, unticked. You opt in to receive messages.

2. You tell the business directly
If you give a business your number over the phone or in person and agree they can text you, the business can record that in bookrun. It is a deliberate, separate confirmation (not a default) and that confirmation is stored as an attestation with the date.

Stopping messages
Reply STOP to any message. That stops bookrun-generated messages from that business immediately and permanently. We record the opt-out against your record so nothing is queued for you again. You don't have to ask twice, and you don't have to ask the business.
Reply START if you later want them back.
Businesses using bookrun maintain their own phone numbers outside the bookrun system. bookrun has no control over messages sent outside our system, and it is the responsibility of you and the businesses to communicate and respect preferences around non-bookrun messages.
What we do with your number
It's held for the business you booked with, so they can contact you about your job. It isn't sold, isn't shared for advertising, and isn't used to message you about anything else. Full detail in the Privacy Policy.
