Privacy Policy
Effective . bookrun is operated by Outwith Studio LLC (“bookrun”, “we”).
The short version
bookrun is software for people running a business they work in by themselves. There are two different groups of people interacting with the software, and we treat them differently:
- Operators: the people who sign up to run their business with bookrun. They're our users, and “operator” is what we call them throughout this policy.
- Their customers: the people an operator quotes and invoices. We store their details for the operator, on their instruction. We don't market to them, sell their details, or use them for anything except running that operator's business.
We never see card numbers. Payments run through Stripe, and money for an operator's work goes to the operator's own Stripe account. Customer payments never pass through our systems.
What we collect from operators

What we store on your behalf, about your customers
When you add a customer, quote a job or take a payment, we store what you entered: name, phone number, email address, service address, your notes, quotes, jobs, photographs you take of the work, invoices, and payment records.
This is your business's data. You decide what goes in it. We hold it so the app works, and we act on your instructions. In privacy terms, you are the controller of customer data and we act as a processor.
Photographs
Before-and-after photographs are stored privately and are visible only to the operator who took them. They are served through short-lived links that expire and are never public.
Messages
bookrun sends messages to your customers on your behalf. This includes quote links, booking confirmations, reminders, and invoices. They identify your business as the sender. We record whether a customer agreed to be contacted, when, and how, so that consent can be demonstrated if it's ever questioned. A customer who opts out stops receiving messages, and we keep a record that they did.

We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
How long we keep data
We keep your data for as long as the account exists. Deleting your account from Settings removes your data, including your customers' records and your job photographs. Deleting your account and data can't be undone. Your Stripe account is yours and isn't deleted with your bookrun account: it holds your payout history and any open disputes.
Some records may persist for a reasonable but brief time period in backups, and Stripe keeps its own transaction records under its obligations, independently of us.
Your choices
- Download everything. Settings → Account & plan → Download my data gives you a complete JSON export.
- Delete everything. Settings → Account & plan → Delete my account.
- Correct anything. Every field is editable in the app.
If you're one of an operator's customers and want your details changed or removed, contact the business you booked with. The operator owns their record. If you can't reach them, write to us and we'll help.
Children
bookrun is a tool for running a business and isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy materially we'll tell operators in the app or by email before it takes effect.
